Organic and natural Beauty Products are SO important but they often times put a dent in our bank accounts—so I’ve got the rundown on some budget friendly organic products that you won’t want to miss out on! First is a line from Physician’s Formula called Organic Wear… it’s absolutely amazing and they have this tinted moisturizer that I LOVE. It’s only .95 and it’s free of Parabens, unnatural colors, harsh chemicals and all other ingredients that are tough on your skin! Next, I love the Organix line of Shampoo’s and Conditioners—You can find them at your local drug store and they are a super budget friendly way to lose all the sulfates that are in normal shampoos. They come in all different scents and formulas to match your hair type and they all run for under .00. And Giovanni is a great line as well—and I personally LOVE their direct leave in conditioner. And sometimes, it’s the smallest things that can make the biggest difference, like switching to organic cotton swabs! If you’re like me, you use these all over your face while doing your makeup—so, lose the yuck in them and purchase these Maxim organic ones for .49. And I use this plant based Facial Scrub by Eclos and I’m literally obsessed. It’s .99 and it’s amazing—you use it once a day every other day and it totally

Baltimore’s Soundscape to be Recorded for New Musical Project: MOBTOWNmoon

Friday, May 18th, 2012

Baltimore, Maryland (PRWEB) May 17, 2012

The Baltimore Soundscape Project has partnered with a group of local musicians and is inviting the entire city to participate in MOBTOWNmoon, a re-creation of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, recorded by Baltimore-based musicians.

Sounds can be submitted between May 15 and June 30. At the end of the contest, five clips will be chosen for inclusion on the album, scheduled for release in 2013, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Dark Side of the Moon.

MOBTOWNmoons one-of-a-kind tribute album will use sound effects in the same way that Pink Floyd used them in its recordings. In the original album, there were alarm clocks, helicopter blades, footsteps and cash registers. On the new album, the public will be able to shape the sounds to match Baltimore’s own soundprint. Tammy Black, Director of Communications for The Hearing and Speech Agency, states, “It’s the perfect partnership. Both projects are uniquely Baltimore and promote an appreciation of the sounds and music all around us.”

The partnership, in fact, was created by chance. Sandy Asirvatham, who, with musician ellen cherry make up the duo behind MOBTOWNmoon, read about The Baltimore Soundscape Project in a local magazine. The timing couldn’t have been better, as the musicians were in the midst of arranging the first tracks for the album. Both agree, “We contacted HASA about partnering and everything since has been very organic, very natural.”

For more information about participating in the MOBTOWNmoon contest or The Baltimore Soundscape Project, visit http://www.mobtownmoon.com/soundscape. Sound clips can be reminiscent of what can be heard on Dark Side of the Moon, or they can be completely unrelated to the original record. They just have to be clearly heard and interesting!

The contest concludes on June 30. The tentative release date of MOBTOWNmoon is March 2013. All clips will become a permanent part of the interactive sound map for The Baltimore Soundscape Project.

ABOUT MOBTOWNmoon: The groundbreaking 1970s music of progressive rock band Pink Floyd still has immense power to galvanize listeners and inspire fellow artists. In honor of the 40th anniversary of the bands worldwide hit record, Dark Side of the Moon, MOBTOWNmoon will bring together many of Baltimores most creative musicians, from across many styles and genres of music, to record and perform a unique, compelling, and unapologetically beautiful interpretation of this classic work.

Created and produced by the respected writer and musician Sandy Asirvatham in collaboration with award-winning singer/songwriter ellen cherry, MOBTOWNmoon will be a dramatic, singer-focused reinterpretation of Dark Side, aimed to highlight the albums profound messages and hard-won wisdom. Originally the product of the relatively young men who wrote the music and lyrics, the songs from Dark Side take up some profoundly adult themes of mortality, scarcity, conflict, and madness. MOBTOWNmoons version of these songs will highlight these ideas while never losing sight of the sheer cathartic beauty of the music.

ABOUT The Baltimore Soundscape Project: A creative initiative of The Hearing and Speech Agency (HASA), The Baltimore Soundscape Project is an interactive sound map that is open to all residents and visitors of Baltimore. The project began in 2010 as an initiative to create a more sound-conscious city, measuring the decibels at certain locations both downtown and in the surrounding neighborhoods. The map has remained online and has evolved into a community project with participants from classrooms, musicians and Charm City locals.
